This is a blog about family life, with the slight difference that G- and I adopted our daughter, S-. When S- first came to us both G- and I- took 6 months off work. After that it made more financial sense for G- to go back to work and for me to stay at home. So stay-at-home dad I became and quite a learning curve it was, too.
[By the way, please do leave a comment if you enjoy this blog - or even if you don't like it. It's amazing what a difference a little feedback, positive or negative, can make.
I stay at home 4 days a week: Monday to Thursday. G- takes over the childcare reigns on Friday, when I pick up some freelance work. It’s difficult for me in some ways but it’s also a lot of fun – and often very humbling, too.
It’s difficult for G-, too, as she spends less time than she’d like with our daughter. There’s a possibility that the situation might change to a greater or lesser degree in the near future. Everything is flexible, and has to be, and we’re learning to live with that.
One thing to note is that we keep the blog anonymous, mainly for S-’s benefit. This explains why you won’t find much in the way of photos or other identifiable media here. Some details might also come across as a little vague, for the same reason. But do feel free to contact us through the site if you want to find out more about anything.
You Adopted! That’s great. S- sounds really cute. This is a great site!
I can’t wait ’til I’m old enough to be a parent… What you’re doing is really and nice inspireing thing.
Thanks Stormheart.
